Equity Collectives

Your Students’ Union works to advance our interests as students. But we know that we will never be better off as a whole if some of us are left behind. We know that to achieve our goals we need to be united – and we cannot have unity without equity. That’s why TRUSU has three equity collectives: the TRUSU Women’s Collective, the TRUSU Aboriginal Students’ Collective, and the TRUSU International Students’ Collective.

Each equity collective is open to participation by any member who self-identifies as a woman, Aboriginal, or international student. Allowing women, Aboriginal students, and international students to drive the work of their collectives ensures that they effectively address equity issues and provide a source of empowerment. The collectives are facilitated by their respective advocacy representatives on the Students’ Union Council to ensure that the work of the collectives is an integrated part of the Students’ Union.
