We all appreciate the high costs associated with being a student. And it’s not just tuition fees, ancillary fees, and books. In the face of these enormous bills, everyday items stretch our pocketbooks, let alone the cost of traveling. That’s why TRUSU takes student discounts seriously. Membership in the Students’ Union gets you great discounts locally, provincially, nationally, and around the world through the International Student Identity Card (ISIC). Because every member of TRUSU is also a member of the Canadian Federation of Students, we are eligible to receive our ISICs without the regular fee. That’s right – it’s free!

The ISIC gets you discounts when you travel with Greyhound, ViaRail, and Travel CUTS. As well, over 60 local discounts are available with your ISIC through the Students’ Union’s StudentSaver Program. So whether you are studying abroad, visiting your home country, or are right here in Kamloops, your ISIC will identify you as a post-secondary student – allowing you to get student discounts on goods, services, and travel.

Participating in the national student movement has its benefits. While students around the world can to purchase the ISIC for a fee, membership in the Canadian Federation of Students through TRUSU allows you to get the card absolutely free of charge. Applications for the ISIC are available at the TRUSU front desk and the cards are ready for pick-up one week after application. Please be advised that applicants are required to show a government issued photo ID. As well, please note that TRUSU does not issue ISICs during the first two weeks of each semester.
