Each year TRUSU provides each of its members with a Members’ Handbook to help organise their academic and social lives, and to provide information about the Campaigns, Services and Advocacy of the Students’ Union.
Trying to balance classes, assignments, work, and the rest of life can be hard at the best of times, but with a year, month, and day-by-day calendar, as well as a timetable, your Handbook will keep all your dates and classes straight. And of course, there’s an address book so you won’t lose the number of your study partner or that special someone you met in Biology 101! At the back of the book, you’ll also find your StudentSaver Card, which pops out easily. To find out about the over 75 local discounts TRUSU has negotiated for you through the StudentSaver Program, click here!
In addition to helping you coordinate the everyday activities involved in being a student, your Handbook is your personal guide to your Students’ Union. In the front of your Handbook you will find a welcome from your President, and a series of pages describing all the services, campaigns, and entertainment you can expect from your Union in the coming year. You will also find a similar section about the Canadian Federation of Students, which we are all a part of, alongside over a half-million other Canadian students. This national organisation also produces fact sheets in the Handbook so that our members know about tuition fees, financial aid, government funding, and tenants’ and worker’s rights. Because TRUSU is a contributing partner to the Canadian Federation of Students, we also save enough money on producing the Members’ Handbooks to be able to provide them to you for free!
The Members’ Handbook is an indispensable resource. You can pick yours up now, at the Students’ Union’s front desk in the Independent Centre.
