Since March 2020 and the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have experienced a time of rapid change in both our campus and personal lives. Amongst this rapid change, it can be hard to know what to do and where to look to find the information to help you make decisions. As COVID-19 and the BC Restart Plan develops there are a lot of changes that are taking place around us and it can be hard to know how to plan or react. This page has been created to provide you with the most up to date and reliable information and resources possible in order to allow you to be able to continue club operations during COVID-19. This page will be updated regularly as BC’s Restart Plan and campus conditions change.
Campus is closed and will remain closed, until further notice. This does not mean that our campus community life has ended, however, we recognize that things have changed. TRUSU is currently working to build a list of virtual resources that foster communication and support your club activities. We look forward to sharing these resources with you at this year’s club orientation. We remain committed to providing you with the support you need to move forward with your club operations virtually.
However, we also know that some clubs will wish to meet in person where possible or necessary. To this end, we have been receiving a lot of questions about what safe social interactions look like in our personal and social lives now that we are in Phase 3 of BC’s Restart Plan.
The Social Interactions section on the BC website offers a comprehensive list of safety measures, defines social distancing procedures, and outlines the expectations for socialising during COVID-19. This page also offers further information regarding Phase 3 of BC’s Restart Plan and a digital assistant chat box in the lower right-hand corner that will guide you to other COVID-19 information on the site should you require. Before planning an event or hosting any meetings we ask that you review Phase 3 of BC’s Restart Plan thoroughly to ensure you have all the information required to practice safe social distancing.
Additionally, TRU has developed a COVID-19 Response Page to provide students and faculty with answers to frequently asked questions specifically regarding campus operations and updates on the health and safety measures being taken. This page will provide you with a more detailed understanding of how TRU is responding to COVID-19 and what your expectations of campus life should be during the Fall 2020 semester. It is important to us that you have all of the information you need to feel safe and comfortable asking questions in this time.
