Common Voices Lecture Series with Terry O’Reilly
Each year the TRU Students’ Union hosts the Common Voices Lecture Series, bringing a world class lecturer to campus. This year’s lecture features Terry O’Reilly, host of the popular CBC Radio Series “Under the Influence” and “The Age of Persuasion”.
JUMP THE FENCE: The Power of Counterintuitive Thinking
If you’ve ever marvelled at a brilliant solution, you’ll also marvel at the path that led to the answer.
Join Terry O’Reilly as he demonstrates how different companies and organizations solve thorny problems with counterintuitive thinking.
Learn how to look at a problem with fresh eyes, how to re-define the obstacle, how to re-calibrate your thinking and when to benefit from going against conventional wisdom. Whether marketing products or trying to solve difficult social issues, the key is to identify the artificial boundaries that limit your thinking – and jump the fence.
