Matthieu Tordeur, South Pole Objective, The movie

Matthieu Tordeur is the youngest explorer to reach the South Pole in 51 days during the winter 2018/2019, unsupported and in total autonomy.

On February 12th 2020, in the Clock Tower Theatre located on the campus of Thompson Rivers University situated in the Secwepemc territory of Kamloops (BC), Matthieu Tordeur will be present to screen his movie “Objectif Pôle Sud” (South Pole Objective) and interact with the community about his expedition.

Matthieu Tordeur is an adventurer member of the French Explorers Society.

At just 26 years old, he embarked on the most ambitious expedition of his life: to reach alone the South Pole, without assistance or resupply. Over 1150 km in Antarctica, he pulls his sleigh loaded with everything he needs to survive in this extreme environment. While the weather conditions are exceptionally harsh this season, he has to face doubt, tiredness and loneliness.

An immersive adventure that immerses us in the intimacy of the 51 days of this extraordinary and very touching expedition. Matthieu is the first Frenchman and the youngest adventurer in history to accomplish such a feat.
